The Reference Department provides a full range of information services utilizing extensive print and up-to-date electronic resources. Our print collection includes encyclopedias, directories, almanacs and handbooks on a variety of subjects. Our databases provide access to a wide array of newspaper and magazine articles and are available both in the library and from home. Our professional staff encourage you to contact us in person, by telephone and by email. We are eager to help you with all kinds of questions such as locating business contacts, finding Title V requirements for your home or exploring college and career information. Electronic Resources

The Stoneham Public Library offers its patrons a number of reference databases to assist them in their research need, includig online biographies, magazines, and newspapers. Funding for these databases is provided by the North of Boston Library Exchange (NOBLE) and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) to member libraries

All of these databases can be accessed through computers at the Stoneham Public Library. Many of these databases are accessible from home. To connect from a computer outside the library, you will need a Stoneham library card.
